A blast from not too long ago.

Probably one of the most exciting things I have heard since the release of the Xbox One was announced by Microsoft at E3, the backwards compatibility.  I have a good collection of Xbox 360 games as does most people who are part of the Xbox family and for Microsoft to not only give me the chance to play my 360 games without turning on another console sounds awesome.  I do have a feeling this will turn out to be more like the 360 to Xbox compatibility with Platinum hits being the only games to hit the 360 if  todays technology can't get away from a select title arrangement I may be disappointed.  I do believe it will be up to the developers to make this really happen, Microsoft can only make the tools available, what a world it will be for the Xbox One to be truly able to be my only console.

According to Gamespresso Xbox One users and 360 users will be able to play with one another over the two consoles.  Get ready for the mass of trade ins on Xbox 360 consoles and the boom of the Xbox One.  They go on to say that 100 titles will be available by the holiday season for download and in this update we can expect to see that old 360 Dashboard hitting our screens once again.  Personally I love the Dashboard of the 360 and while the One is not a bad set up it took some getting used to and seemed to really make you work to open anything that alone made me want to pull my hair out.  The 360 Dashboard at the push of a couple of buttons (View and Menu) will be a nice feel again, this function I believe will only work with 360 games, but this will keep the Achievements on those 360 games separate.  So here is how it is supposed to work: put in 360 game disc, download the partial game data, and play to your hearts content. Now this is not a hardware compatibility so those awesome guitar controllers will not work for this but with the new Guitar Hero and Rockband hitting store shelves in the near future is anyone really going to hate on that?  If you haven't configured your cloud settings for your Xbox 360 then you might want to look into that but that is just a hunch and nothing has been posted to reflect that to the best of my knowledge so make your voice heard and take a few hours to go through the 78 pages of games and cast your votes for the games you want to see on Xbox One.

VOTE NOW

Thank for reading and look forward to our reviews of Payday 2: Crimewave Edition (Xbox One), Just Cause 2 (Xbox 360), Castle Storm (Xbox One), Assassin's Creed: Unity(Xbox One), and many more.
